Author Brooke Champagne at Second Story

  • Well Red 223 Opelika Road Auburn, AL, 36830 United States (map)

Join us at Second Story next Wednesday 10/1 at 6:30pm for a special author event with Brooke Champagne to celebrate her illuminating work, Nola Face: A Latina's Life in the Big Easy.

Named a Best Book of 2024 by Kirkus Reviews, this memoir-in-essays follows the native New Orleanian as she searches for identity in an upbringing complicated by competing languages, ethnicities, and educations.

Her work has been selected as Notable in several editions of the Best American Essays anthology series, and she is the recipient of the 2023-2024 Alabama State Council on the Arts Literary Fellowship in Prose.

Champagne also serves as Book Reviews Editor for River Teeth.

This special event is made possible by the Auburn University English Department.
